Long Route

Long Route: 170km, 3952m

One of the toughest rides in the UK. We start on Coniston Water and just have one climb in the first 37km before we hit the super tough stuff. The next 40km is as hard as it gets with non stop ups and downs. First up is Corney Fell, almost 4km at over 7% before hitting the toughest 1-2 in the UK, Hardknott followed by Wrynose.

After getting back to Coniston, the long route heads to Ambleside and the aptly named The Struggle – 4.6km at over 8%. From here it’s easier on the way back with only a couple of lumps, including Cartmel Fell, to get over before arriving back at Coniston for a well earned medal.

Ride Difficulty: 4/5

Medium Route

Medium Route: 98km, 2352m

A very punchy 100km taking in three classic climbs and a number of great local climbs on a sportive that goes up and down for most of the route.

The start & finish is slightly easier but the middle half is packed with monster climbs including Corney Fell & the two hardest back to back climbs in the country: Hardknott & Wrynose. It’s (mostly) downhill from here and a welcome return in Coniston for a hard earned medal.

Physical Difficulty: 3/5
