After a gentle rise & descent, we get straight into the serious stuff with a Top 100 climb of Streatley Hill after just 6.5km and then head south west where the medium route cuts off. The highest point (and one of the toughest climbs) is Combe Gibbet before we turn north to the quiet lanes of Wiltshire & the White Horse of Uffington where we take on the Dragon Hill. The way back is quick with a couple of lumps to get over before we cross the famous Whitchurch Bridge for a summit finish at the top of Whitchurch Hill.
Ride Difficulty: 4/5
Medium Route: 117km, 528m
A stunning ride with a few challenging climbs to get over. The route starts & finishes with tough climbs (Streatley Hill after 6.5km & a summit finish on Whitchurch Hill) with a more rolling middle 100km on lovely Wiltshire backroads. After a long false flat around Lambourn, we reach Dragon Hill road and see the 3,000 year old White Horse in Uffington. From here, it’s a fast flowing descent and two lumps to get over before saving energy for the final climb. A great ride suitable for most regular cyclists.
