Start  & finish at the beautiful Duncombe Park: A massive ride deserves a suitable ride village and there aren’t many better than Duncombe Park – a 300 year old grand house & estate in a stunning setting.

Five Top 100 Climbs: Tick off the bucket list climbs as you get over some of the toughest ascents in England. The hardest in our opinion is Caper Hill – 1.3km at 14% 👊👊.

Stunning riding on the Moors: The Yorkshire Moors is one of the wildest parts of the country and we cross heather moorland with views like nowhere else. A richly rewarding place to ride when you’re not chewing your stem.

Start Time: From 7.30am

Finish Time: Ride Village closes at 6pm

Start / Finish Location: Duncombe Park

Long Route

Long Route: 162km, 3389m

Starting in glorious Duncombe Park, this 162km route is up and down all day apart from a recovery section at 85km that lasts nearly 30km.

The climbing starts almost immediately with some short, sharp climbs before hitting the first of 5 top 100 climbs at 39km. Blakey Bank is the longest climb of the day at 1.8km but like all the big ascents, the gradient is STEEP.

At 70km we hit a local classic and the toughest climb of the day. Caper Hill is just 1.3km but with an average of over 14%, it will feel much longer. Straight after this comes the famous Rosedale Chimney before the flatter 30km of the day.

The last part of the route is another challenging section starting with White Horse Bank (another climb averaging over 10%) before Boltby Bank and a descent home for a very hard earned medal.

Ride Difficulty: 5/5

Medium Route

Medium Route: 98km, 1898m

A stunning 100km loop in the Moors with plenty of climbing & glorious views throughout. We start in the glorious Duncombe Park and climb for most of the first 15km before an easier middle part of the route on quiet Yorkshire back lanes & wild moorland.

The toughest climbs come near the end with two top 100 ascents to get over. At 66km we hit White Horse Bank (1.7km at 10%) and then at 81km we take on the toughest climb of the day – Boltby Bank, averaging over 13%. From here it’s downhill all the way home apart from one last lump.

A challenging ride but one that most regular riders will be able to get round in one piece.

Physical Difficulty: 3.5/5
